YOUTH SUMMER CLASSES
NEW this summer, MCP will offer its first 6-week Teen Pottery class Tuesdays 9:30-Noon in Late Summer. Unlike the week-long classes, this class will also include glazing instruction in the final week.
Our youth clay classes are great for teen students with a variety of experiences and backgrounds (maybe your child has taken a week-long class with us, had classes at their high school, or has no experience at all). Although we will start out with the basics, there are ample opportunities to build on pre-existing skills and flexibility to follow individual interests.
During our youth clay classes your child/teen will focus on learning a variety of clay techniques (pottery wheel or handbuilding) through guided daily lessons with fun and engaging project ideas presented by the instructor. Free-choice making time is available as well.
Week-long classes include clay, firing, and glaze for 10-15 finished pieces.
6-week class includes 10 lbs of finished work.
No experience needed, except Pottery 2.

None of our organized youth clay class times suit your schedule? Try one of our youth lessons. These can be scheduled for adults with children or just children. Younger children often enjoy our Kids Open Studio as non-instructional opportunity to explore the tactility of clay. Access to the pottery wheels is not possible without in-studio training and/or demonstration of knowledge and clean up procedures.
